Veneers

Veneers in Nashville, TN

Are you looking for a simple solution that will hide imperfections in your smile? Most people have at least one flaw that they aren’t thrilled about. Perhaps it’s that gap between your front teeth or a slightly crooked tooth. If your smile is leaving something to be desired, our Nashville, TN, cosmetic dentist Dr. Holliday can help you get a smile you’ll desire with the help of dental veneers.

Veneers

What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that cover the front of your teeth to improve the overall appearance of your smile. Veneers also mirror the same translucency that natural teeth do to give you a more realistic-looking smile. Dental veneers can hide a variety of different dental issues such as:

  • Spacing between teeth
  • Severe discolorations and stains
  • Chips and cracks
  • Crooked teeth
  • Misshapen and overlapping teeth

Who should get dental veneers?

If you are dealing with any of the problems above and you want to find a minimally invasive and quick way to hide these aesthetic issues, then dental veneers are a great option. If you don’t want to spend time and money on orthodontic treatment to straighten teeth or fix gaps, then let dental veneers do the work. If stains from smoking or trauma have affected the color of your teeth and teeth whitening won’t provide optimal results, then dental veneers could help you get a brighter smile, permanently.

What should I expect when I get dental veneers?

Very little tooth prep is needed before applying your dental veneers. We will, however, need to remove small amounts of tooth enamel to make room for your veneers (you don’t want to have a bulky smile). While the removal process is minimal and doesn’t usually require anesthesia, this treatment is considered irreversible once this tooth prep occurs.

We will also choose a shade of porcelain that will give you a vibrant yet realistic smile. Once we choose a color, we will temporarily apply the veneers over your teeth to make sure you approve of your new look. Once you give your approval we will apply a special dental cement between the veneer and your tooth and use a laser beam to harder the cement.

How do I care for my dental veneers?

The nice part is that you can treat your veneers just like natural teeth. This means you don’t have to change your brushing and flossing routine to accommodate your veneers, just continue your oral care as usual.
